A pavilion for the Royal Yacht Squadron and acting as the Resident Engineer for a new h.q. for British Sugar Corporation. Kier Ltd, 1973 -1974. Designing car parks and hyperboloid cooling towers in concrete. Cambridge University Engineering Department, 1974 -1977. Research into the behaviour of cylindrical shell structures when pushed into clay. Peter Dann and Partners, 1977 -1978. Steel agricultural portal frames and the conversion into houses of a derelict castle in France. Cambridge University School of Architecture, 1978 -1983. Teaching architecture students about structures, in both design studios and lectures. Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning, University College London, 1983 -1988.
